I have been drawn to Marilyn Baker's music for more than 20 years, having seen her live locally. Her music continues to inspire and comfort. A great resource for private prayer or for sharing with others.

I've found 'A Desert Transformed' a rich and very assuring read. Tracy Williamson invites us to sit a while and hear the assurances of a God who holds us in our wilderness times as well as in easier times. With Tracy's warm, prophetic voice, the rich words and reflections on scripture in this devotional will be a blessing to the weak and weary, to those who are not finding that a life of faith means a life without pain. Readers will be greatly blessed and soothed by the gentle words of comfort Tracy offers, and the many images she paints so vividly of the Father’s passionate love. This is a book which merges the ordinary with the sacred, the messy with the beautiful and the darkness with the treasure. Highly recommended.

What a wonderful account of two women's life and ministry showing people how God's love can transform every situation. It reveals how Marilyn's heartfelt and inspired songs flow naturally from her own spiritual life, and so with Tracy, her gift with words shines in the way she's put this memoir together. The tapestry of biography, anecdote, testimony and reflection is skillfully woven into a whole. The pattern is one of love, and I was very moved and uplifted by their stories.

This book is a very personal testimony of healing with an inspirational message for those who know how shame, fear and rejection can shape and paralyse the smallest daily decisions. Using the author's own lived experiences and those of others, it encourages the reader to break free from destructive cycles of self-hate and despair by embracing the love of God and his unconditional acceptance and passion for the person he made us to be.

An affirming and insightful read which I found encouraging and would recommend to others.

First heard Marilyn Baker in the 1980’s I think. But not really listened to her music over recent decades. Loved this 3 CD set. It contains some of the songs I knew from that era, all of which are so encouraging. Delighted to be hearing songs she's written/performed since then. During this 2020 pandemic it's good to be reminded of God's unfailing grace to us. Warmly recommend this collection.
