MBM is a dynamic
itinerant ministry of music, teaching and prayer. It began in the early
1980’s with singer/songwriter Marilyn Baker
releasing albums which drew people into God’s healing
presence.
Churches started inviting her to do evangelistic and encouragement
concerts and Marilyn, who has been blind almost from birth,
soon realised the tremendous potential to touch people’s
lives in a deep way.
At God’s leading she gave up her job as a music teacher
and started ministering fulltime. Soon Marilyn was
travelling extensively in Britain and many parts of the
world. A familiar performer at Spring Harvest, Filey
and other conferences, Marilyn quickly became Britain’s
top selling female gospel singer.
In 1986 Marilyn was joined by Tracy Williamson, whose
gifts in speaking and prophecy enriched the music with
a new dimension. Marilyn’s cd’s and Tracy’s
books enable them to reach an even wider audience.
The work of MBM has grown. As
well as concerts, Marilyn and Tracy undertake church encouragement
weekends, workshops and conferences. They minister
to large or small groups or in elderly peoples’ homes
and prisons. However they do it, the focus of the
ministry remains the same, to bring people and churches
into the healing and empowering presence of God through
music, teaching and prayer.

Life can be such a rush, and it is so easy to get distracted and involved in things that are not really that important; but if we are going to have fruitful lives and really make a difference in this world we need to live in closeness and intimacy with Jesus Christ. It’s only as we tune in to what is on his heart that we can really do the things that he has planned. We believe that all lives can be changed and restored as people come into intimacy with Father God, and that is what we want people to do – to hear Him for themselves more and more in their everyday lives and to experience the power of his presence in an ongoing way.
But we don't want to just give people some teaching. We want to help them draw strength from God for themselves in their everyday lives - to teach them how to meditate on God's word. For example, helping them start a prayer journal, to grow into a more intimate relationship with God. This is MBM’s goal – teaching people to ‘fish for themselves’.
Our refreshment and renewal events, whether they are one day or one week, give you the opportunity to take the time needed to learn how to really communicate with God and come into a deeper, closer friendship with him.
